19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a torrid season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of that year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 different tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional victory, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, he secured victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
